About CAPS
The Center for African Policy Solutions (CAPS) is an independent Non-Governmental Organization with complete freedom from outside influence in setting its own research and policy priorities. It is a public policy think tank and forum for the generation and dissemination of cogent Africa-centric ideas on African and global affairs, and the development of reliable public policy solutions for the African Continent.
CAPS is committed to building a first-rate and vibrant network of in-house and out-sourced research capacity, and a broad-base of partner think tanks across the continent and the world, facilitating the flow of ideas on key public policy matters around inclusive economic growth and development. It brings together public policy researchers and practitioners to ideate on a wide range of policy areas: from the economy and finance to energy and climate, education and innovation, regional integration, and international cooperation.
Scope
The Center for African Policy Solutions provides insights on African development issues and potential solutions for policy-making through:
- Research projects and programmes
- Research publications (commissioned and non-commissioned)
- Regular events such as Workshops, Seminars and High-level discussion forums
- A flagship action-oriented initiative - Solution Lab
Priorities
The Center for African Policy Solutions annually sets its research priorities, guided by its own analysis and foresight of the African policy landscape, to lead the debate on the continent's priorities through impactful research, actionable policy briefs, commentaries and high-level forums.
